A combination of traditional and improved installation characteristics

Installers will feel very comfortable in using HENRY GreenLine GL62 High-Performance carpet adhesive. Using traditional wet-set installation techniques, the installer will find GreenLine GL62 easier to trowel with exceptional working time. This is critical when pattern matching or installing long drops. When you open the pail, the first thing you'll notice is what you don't notice - no discernible odor. You will notice the clean and creamy white color. These two characteristics are trademarks of HENRY GreenLine GL62. Here are specific installation recommendations:

Applications:
Use For:
Commercial carpets: polypropylene (Action Bac), latex unitary, urethane foam, unitary (Action Bac), urethane laminate, jute, hot melt, woven, latex foam-backed and non-backed needle-punched.
Bonds To: Concrete, underlayments, wood substrates, terrazzo and existing resilient on all grade levels as recommended by the carpet manufacturer.

Preparation:

  • Refer to carpet manufacturer’s specific recommendations.
  • Condition the area to be installed, adhesive and flooring at 65°F (18°C)
or above for 48 hours before, during and 48 hours after installation.
  • Floor must be sound, smooth, dry, clean and free of excessive
moisture or alkali. Remove dirt, wax, loose paint and all other foreign
matter that would interfere with a good bond such as curing agents
    and sealers.

Application

Recommended Trowel

Coverage
Rough-Back Carpet

90-108 sq. ft.
Smooth-Back Carpet

144-162 sq. ft.

Installation:

  • Stir any liquid on the surface into the adhesive.
  • Full spread adhesive using recommended trowel.
Note: Recommended trowel sizes are minimum requirements. Porous
concrete and some carpet backings may require deeper notches.
100% transfer of adhesive into the carpet backing must be obtained.
  • Install carpet immediately into wet adhesive unless carpet or substrate is nonporous. In this case, wait 10 – 15 minutes before installing carpet.
  • Within 60 minutes, cut, fit and reposition as recommended
    by the carpet manufacturer.
  • Roll floor in both directions with a 75-100 lb roller and seal seams as
recommended by the carpet manufacturer. Stiff carpets should be
rolled again after 2 hours. Restrict heavy traffic over carpet for 24 hours.
  • As is customary with normal installation procedures, do not sand, dry
sweep, dry scrape, drill, saw, beadblast, or mechanically chip or
pulverize existing resilient flooring, backing, lining felt, or asphalt
“cutback” adhesives or other adhesives. These products may contain
asbestos fibers and/or crystalline silica. Avoid creating dust. During
the installation process, adequate ventilation of the work area should
be maintained. Persons who are sensitive to odors and/or chemicals
should avoid the work area. Inhalation of such dust is a cancer and
respiratory tract hazard. Smoking by individuals exposed to asbestos
fibers greatly increases the risk of serious bodily harm. See current
edition of the Resilient Floor Covering Institute’s publication
“Recommended Work Practices for Removal of Resilient Floor
Coverings” for instructions on removing all resilient floor
    covering structures.
